How this works / limitations
Each spot has an approximate exposure window — the range of swell directions it can actually receive — plus a period preference (longer-period groundswell wraps points and reefs better than short-period windswell). Incoming hourly swell height/period/direction comes from the Open-Meteo Marine API, a forecast model blended from buoy observations and wave models — not a raw buoy feed. Energy is a simple physical proxy (height² × period), scaled by how well the direction matches each spot's window.
This is a proof of concept. The exposure windows below are rough approximations from general knowledge of these breaks, not a refraction/bathymetry model — always sanity-check against a local report before driving over the hill.
